Regular Meeting

May 2, 2006

Chairman Robert D. Stevens called the meeting to order at 7:30 PM. Commissioner Lynnett McLean, and Port Manager Chris Phalen were in attendance.

Guests Present: Mrs. Kelly, Mr. Jarstad, Mr. Edwards and Mr. McDonald

Consent Items:

  1. Motion was made and seconded to accept minutes of April 4, 2006. Motion carried.
  2. Motion was made and seconded to accept May vouchers as prepared. Motion carried.

Unfinished Business:

  1. Campground.
  2. Chairman Stevens asked if there was anything to report on campground. Port Manager Chris Phalen reported she had collected $130 and deposited in Shelton $1,100. last month.
     

  3. Campground Plans and Manke Lease
  4. Port Manger Chris Phalen said she talked to Joe O’Leary, and he would be out of school soon, and he would be ale to finish putting everything together.
     

  5. Web Site
  6. Ken Jarstad gives a report on the web site. Ken is still looking for ways to improve the park maps. Vickie was going to get her the disk of the map. He also has signs for the campground rules and prices made larger.
     

  7. New Commissioner

Chairman Stevens announced the board was going into executive session: to discuss appointing a new commissioner. Time was 7:42 and they will return at 7:50 PM. Sally Lambert resigned for medical reasons and there are two people interested in the position – Lorrain Kelly and Ted Edwards. The board decided to go with Lorrain Kelly. She was previously on the commission and is familiar with Manke and her connections with them so the board thought she would be the best choice. Chairman Stevens said she will have to run next year and if she does not choose to run, Mr. Edwards was encouraged to do so.

New Business:

No new business.

Open Discussion:

Port Manager Chris Phalen said she needs some volunteers to help put up the numbers in the park. She found the clips to go on the numbers.

Port Manger Chris Phalen said she talked to Dave Haugen about putting Plexiglas on the reader board in the park. He said he had not had time to figure out a price but will try to get it before our next meeting. There is some concern that it will just be shot up. Port Manager Chris Phalen said we don’t really have a problem with people tearing down signs.

Port Manger Chris Phalen said before we put the numbers up, she is going to purchase the port a cordless electric drill. Commissioner McLean advised her to get at least a 18 volt drill.

Cell Towers were discussed and Commissioner Kelly said there were permits issued a couple years ago for a cell tower up by Broomer but nothing ever happened.

The meeting was adjourned at 8:10 PM
