Unfinished Business:

1.                 Campground:

Port Manager Chris Phalen reported the campground is looking great. The lady prisoners were out and worked on the 19th of May and will be back out on June 16th. We should have all the tables done and delivered to the Park this week. Port Manager Phalen added that the park was packed Memorial Day weekend.

We have $363.41 in petty cash, and $533.00 in the bank. Port Manager Phalen deposited $3,048.00 in Shelton. $270.00 will go back to bank.

2.                 Website:

Ken Jarstad, our web master, said we are getting over 1000 hits a month on the website. Port Manager Phalen said every time someone calls for a reservation, they have the website on with the map pulled up.

Ken said there has been some changes to the website for security reasons. Chairperson McLean said people are not traveling like they did and they are looking for a nice place locally to go to.

Port Manager Phalen said the Chamber called her last week and wanted to know if we wanted to put an ad in their new book they were publishing. A quarter page was $500.00, half a page was $800.00. Chairperson McLean said they have that North Mason Paper that we could check into. Commissioner Edwards thought the internet was the best way to advertise since we know they are getting 1000 hits a month.

Commissioner Edwards said he goes down to the park and talks to the people. He said the people appreciate how nice the park is and added that they like it because it is low keyed, not a lot of amenities. He also added that we need a sign, “Pack it in, Pack it out”. Port Manager Phalen said she put one up like that, that DNR gave her years ago, and people just tore it down. The sign said, “You bring it in, You bring it out”.

Bikes on Manke property were discussed. Commissioner Edwards said all the bikes on Manke Property does not come from the park; they come mostly from Tee Lake and above. Port Manager Phalen said that over the holiday, Manke people were parked below the park and they were taking the bikes in and out of the river.

3.                 Land Clearing:

The land clearing was discussed. The Commissioners thought they did a nice job. Seeding it was discussed as well as a water system which will be  discussed at the next meeting. Commissioner Edwards was going to check on a water system. Commissioner Edwards asked who maintained the steps at the beach. Port Manager Phalen said the Port put the steps in. He said they were still in good shape.
