Port Manager Phalen
reports that she is getting a lot of young people that mention their parents or
grandparents use to camp up at
2. Website:
Ken Jarstad, our web master, said everything is the same except he had a bill for $8.58 from GoDaddy.com, which is an automatic renewal.
3. Water System:
Commissioner Edwards explained the first bid to do the work on putting in the water system and doing the Hydro seeding on the two acres. The bid was from Randall Landscaping and came in at $53,268.30. It was figured out to be about 3000 sq. ft. with 20 zones with each zone having 4 to 5 heads, 5 preferred, this would depend on the output of the well and the recovery rates. That data is coming form Nichols Well Drilling. They are making every attempt to get that data for us as soon as possible.
The grading that has to be done to get rid of the large rocks and dips in the center so that we don’t have standing water there. It is about a one-foot grad off to the West, so that the water drains off to the trees. Commissioner Edward added that it would take about a days Cat work to level it properly, and then tapping into the water line. That information we have to get from Nichols as well. If we can take it before the building, we would have a getter flow of water.
Randall’s said that would run $1,200.00. To install the 20 zones would run $17,750.00.
Commissioner Edwards said they also recommended 10yds of topsoil per 1000 sq feet and Hydro-seeding would run $29,650.00. Commissioner Edwards added that this can be done in stages, but you can’t Hydro seed after October.
Everyone said that is a lot of money. Commissioner Edwards said you could put asphalt out there for about the same cost. Chairperson McLean said that gives us something to go by. Commissioner Edwards said with the right negotiations, we might get help from D & R or the Fire Dept. If the Fire Dept. turns us down, just raise their rent. Port Manager Phalen said we could check into grants to do the job.
Our next meeting will be September 2, 2008 at 6:30 p.m.
Meeting was adjourned at 7:05 p.m.
